Wages & Employment Benefits

This area concerns the payment of wages and statutory benefits such as bonus, gratuity, provident fund and leave.

What this covers

  1. 01Unpaid and delayed wages
  2. 02Minimum wages
  3. 03Gratuity claims
  4. 04Provident fund and employee state insurance
  5. 05Bonus and leave encashment

How it generally works

Wages, minimum wages and bonus are now addressed in the Code on Wages, while gratuity, provident fund and insurance are addressed in the Code on Social Security, along with their rules.

Claims are generally made before the authorities designated under these laws — for example, the controlling authority for gratuity.

Keeping appointment letters, salary slips and bank records helps prove these claims.
