How it generally works

Central government employees generally approach the Central Administrative Tribunal under the Administrative Tribunals Act, 1985, with further challenges before the High Court.

Employees of other public bodies and certain state services may approach the High Court directly in writ jurisdiction.

Service rules, office memoranda and the record of departmental proceedings are central to these cases.
