  3. 03Retirement and expulsion of partners
  4. 04Disputes under partnership deeds
  5. 05LLP disputes

How it generally works

Partnership firms are governed by the Indian Partnership Act, 1932. A partner of a registered firm can sue for dissolution and accounts; an unregistered firm faces some restrictions on suing third parties.

Limited liability partnerships are governed by the Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008 and the LLP agreement.

Many partnership deeds contain an arbitration clause, which usually decides where the dispute is heard.
